Chemistry research faculty are active in a variety of technologically important areas, including polymer synthesis, organic electronics, biofunctional surfaces, chemical and biological sensors, protein chemistry, tribology, nanotechnology, and analytical chemistry related to the environment. Faculty have funding from a variety of sources, including the National Science Foundation, the Army Research Office, the Air Force Office of Research, the National Institute of Health, and various industrial sponsors.
